COVID-19 Update As Of August 10: 5,926 New Cases From Examination Of 121,909 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 121,909 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,926 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,261,605 people and active cases have increased by 1,002 to 52,043", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, August 10.

Today's recovered cases increased by 4,906 people, bringing the total to 6,052,413 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 18 cases and totaled 157,149 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,224 cases and a total of 1,353,237 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1,469 new cases with a total of 1,146,338 cases. Banten has 767 new cases and a total of 318,673 cases. East Java has 468 new cases and a total of 589,655 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,590 recovered cases. Followed by Banten with an increase of 1,344 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 752 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 457 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 104,787,074.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.05 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 7,985 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 202,813,315 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,356,449 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 57,745,319. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
