Denies Internal Commotion, August 12, Muchdi Purwoprandjono's Berkarya Party Registers With KPU

JAKARTA - The Berkarya Party DPP under the leadership of General Chair Muchdi Purwoprandjono expressed its solidity and is ready to register as a participant in the 2024 General Election to the General Elections Commission (KPU) on 12 August.

"The DPW and DPD are very solid in mutual cooperation, so the Berkarya Party is ready to register with the KPU on August 12," said Chairman of the DPP for Politics and Government, Muhammad Alkahfi Try Dalle in a written statement in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, August 10.

This was said by Dalle in response to the comments of the Secretary General of the inactive Berkarya Party, Badaruddin Andi Picunang, who hoped that Berkarya Party cadres would avoid the National Conference before being declared eligible to participate in the 2024 General Election or preferably with a joint National Conference.

"Badaruddin is the secretary general who has declared his absence from the Berkarya Party. I think that's the words of someone who has no principles. His lack of principle is natural because maybe his health is being disturbed," he said.

According to him, Badaruddin's attitude that he has resigned from the Berkarya Party since the end of July 2022 is an attitude that wants to cause chaos for the Berkarya Party, which is cool.

"I think Badarudin's attitude is deliberately to shake up the party's internal and interfere with verification. It's only natural because he sees the party led by General Chair Muchdi Purwopranjono much more advanced than the previous general chairman," he said.

Dalle continued, currently all the management and cadres of the Berkarya Party have expressed their readiness to participate in the 2024 General Election. And are ready to fight for victory in the five-year event.

Previously, the non-active Secretary General of the Berkarya Party, Badaruddin Andi Picunang, hoped that the Berkarya Party cadres would suggest their cadres to be 'bedol desa' to other parties.

"Let go of your personal ego, stop the politics of fighting each other, embrace all parties for the greatness of this party. And avoid the National Conference before this party is declared to have qualified as a participant in the 2024 General Election. If you want peace, make a Joint Conference after passing the verification involving the party founders," he said. Picunang on Tuesday (9/8).

He said that until now his party has not registered itself as an election participant with the KPU because there is still chaos within the party.

"Feeling that something was not in accordance with the decision, some of the management personnel in the new decree held a meeting as of August 1, 2022 (the same day the decree was issued) to dismiss the Secretary General (Secretary General) and several administrators who were pro-improvement. Including replacing and replacing the leadership of the Provincial DPW which is not in line with the policy," said Picunang.
