Ciracas Police Examines 3 Witnesses In The Case Of Baby's Corpse Found In The Rented Room

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ciracas Police has examined three witnesses in the case of finding a baby's body in a rented room on Masjid Al Islah Street, Susukan Village, on Friday, August 5.

The Head of Ciracas Police, Commissioner (Kompol) Jupriono, said that the witnesses who had been examined were the landlord and two residents around the scene.

"The evidence that we have secured is the victim's clothes. Then there are also blankets at the crime scene," Jupriono said quoting Antara, Tuesday, August 9.

Jupriono added that from the inspection, it was known that the landlord and residents only found out that the victim had died after smelling the pungent smell of the baby's body, which was suspected to have been dead for three days.

"At the TKP we found that his condition was dead. So no one saw what happened, so we needed the results of an autopsy from the Police Hospital," said Jupriono.

He said that his party was still trying to reveal the case of finding the baby's corpse in the rented house.

Even though until now the whereabouts of the two parents of the baby who allegedly abandoned their child are still fugitives.

In addition, his party is still waiting for the results of the autopsy on the baby's body to determine the cause of death of the victim, as well as whether or not there is a criminal element for the death of the innocent baby.

Because based on the results of the examination by the Identification team and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ciracas Police, they did not find any signs of abuse on the victim's body.

"We are still conducting an investigation, we cannot conclude whether the cause of death was violence or whether the death was due to illness," said Jupriono.
