Update On COVID-19 As Of November 16: New Cases Of 3,535, Total Cases Of 470,648

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 34,639 specimens were examined with the results of 3,535 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 470,648 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, November 16.

Today's cases increased by 3,452, so that a total of 395,443 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 85 people and a total of 15,296 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,006 new cases and a total of 119,633 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by Central Java, which has 705 new cases with a total of 44,148 cases. West Java has 558 new cases and a total of 45,049 cases. Then, East Java has 264 new cases and a total of 56,551 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,038 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 724 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 333 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 247 recovered cases.

Then, there are 6 provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces are Jambi, Central Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, West Papua, and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 5,090,127. In detail, a total of 4,998,370 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 91,757 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.1 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 63,683 people. Currently, 505 districts / cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
