JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party and PKB are scheduled to register as candidates for the 2024 Simultaneous Election to the General Elections Commission (KPU) today, Monday, August 8.

On the eighth day of registration of candidates for the 2024 General Election, the Hanura Party and a new party also requested registration to the KPU today.

RI KPU member August Melasz said that as many as 4 political parties would submit registration documents to the KPU office on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Central Jakarta, today.

He explained that two parties passed the parliamentary threshold (PT), namely PKB and Gerindra. One political party did not pass the PT, namely Hanura, and one new party, the Republican Party.

"At 11.00 WIB the Indonesian Republican Party, 14.00 WIB the Hanura Party, 15.00 WIB the Gerindra Party and the National Awakening Party (PKB)," said August Melasz to reporters, Monday, August 8.

August ensured that the registration process that took place at the KPU RI could be monitored by the general public. "Through live streaming on the KPU RI YouTube account," said Melaz. It is known that the registration of political parties as candidates for the 2024 Simultaneous Election has been ongoing for 8 days, starting from Monday, August 1.

Today, PKB and Gerindra confirmed that they would visit the KPU. The two parties will march together from the Sunda Kelapa Mosque, Central Jakarta, to the KPU.

The group of PKB and Gerindra cadres will walk to the KPU while carrying the red and white flag and flag accompanied by a marching band.

"It is planned that 1,000 joint PKB and Gerindra cadres with their respective uniforms will gather in front of the Sunda Kelapa Mosque," said PKB deputy head, Jazilul Fawaid, when contacted, Monday, August 8.
