JAKARTA - The Taiwanese government admits that it continues to receive military threats from China after the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the island.

After the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Aug. 2, Taiwan continues to receive military threats from China, according to a statement from the Taiwan Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Indonesia, Saturday Aug. 6.

According to TETO, China has announced that it will hold military exercises for three consecutive days on August 4-7 with live fire drills in a total of 6 water areas -- north, northeast, northwest, east, south and southwest sides. and Taiwanese airspace.

"These military exercises have blockaded Taiwan's air and sea, affected the operations of 17 international shipping lanes and 7 international ports from Taiwan, and several exercises have invaded Taiwan's territorial waters, adjacent territories and airspace," TETO Representative John Chen said in the statement. , reported by Antara.

The Taiwanese side considers that China's military exercises can disrupt the stability of the region and the Taiwan strait and interfere with the rights and interests of aircraft and ships that will pass through the region.

"In addition, peace in the Taiwan Strait is very important for regional peace and stability, and at the same time will also affect the welfare of most of the Indonesian diaspora in Taiwan," Chen said.

For this reason, he asked all people in Indonesia to continue to show solidarity with Taiwan.

Earlier, at least five authorities in China issued a joint statement condemning the visit by US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, while the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) held military exercises near Taiwan.

The statement was issued shortly after Pelosi's plane landed at Songshan Airport, Taipei, Taiwan, Tuesday evening, August 2.

The five authorities consider Pelosi's visit to have undermined the foundation of the China-US partnership and China will take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

All the consequences must be borne by the US and the "Taiwan independence" separatist group, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in the statement.

The five Chinese authorities are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) for Taiwan Affairs, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Assembly (CPPCC) on Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of National Defense. Shortly after Pelosi landed in Taiwan, the PLA Eastern Fleet Command immediately launched joint military exercises and operations around the island of Taiwan.
