COVID-19 Update As Of August 6th: New Cases 5,455, Recovered 4,850

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 102,800 specimens were examined with the results of 5,455 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,240,699 people and active cases have increased by 595 to 50,895 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Saturday, August 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 4,850 cases, bringing the total to 6,032,722 recovered people. Then, there were 10 positive confirmations that died and a total of 157,082 people.

The province with the highest new cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,356 cases. Followed by West Java with 1,183 new cases. Banten has 618 new cases. Then, East Java with 486 new cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,900 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 617 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 405 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 264 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 104,347,059.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.05 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 6,219 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 202,687,498 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,250,678 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 57,123,161 Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia was 208,265,720 people.
