KSP Invites Civilian Organizations, Community Leaders To Massive Socialization Of The TPKS Law

JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) is committed to continuing to oversee the acceleration of the implementation of the Sexual Violence Act (TPKS).

One of the efforts made by KSP is to invite community leaders and civil organizations to socialize the TPKS Law to the grassroots community. This is a form of the government's commitment to providing follow-up steps after the enactment of Law no. 12 Year 2022 since last April.

“One of the national strategic issues that KSP pays attention to is related to the acceleration of implementation and socialization of the TPKS Law. In order to support the optimization of the implementation of political communication, especially to strategic groups and related stakeholders, the KSP Listening program was held,” said Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko when opening the KSP Listening Program via teleconference.

The KSP Hearing Program, which was held in Bandung, West Java, Friday, August 5, was attended by 80 representatives of the public and civil organizations working on the issue of individual protection and human rights.

The government also hopes that all elements of society will participate in guarding and supervising the implementation of the functioning of the articles of the TPKS Law by understanding the types of acts of sexual violence, restitution, integrated service units, and so on.

"The government targets two years to complete the derivative regulations of the TPKS Law and accelerate their implementation. So the TPKS Law needs to be disseminated intensively, so that the public will understand more about their rights and protection. So KSP here invites the community, civil society organizations and activists of the women-child movement to work together to educate the public about the TPKS Law," said KSP Main Expert, Ali Mochtar Ngabalin.

In addition, the perspective of civil society is needed as input for the government in preparing derivative regulations of the TPKS Law.

"Therefore, it is necessary to have the same understanding and enthusiasm between the government, law enforcement officers and the community regarding the application of the articles of the TPKS Law in handling cases of sexual violence that occurred," added Ali Ngabalin.

For information, KSP Hearing is a program that provides access for the community to express their aspirations to the government. Until this August, KSP has held the KSP Listening program online 16 times and onsite 24 times in almost all regions in Indonesia.

Also attending the KSP Hearing event in Bandung this time were a number of representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of PPPA, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of ATR/BPN, the Ministry of Investment/BPKM, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and the Ministry of PUPR.

In addition to discussing the issue of socialization of the TPKS Law, KSP Hearing in Bandung also discussed other strategic issues of public concern, including one related to the Online Single Submission (OSS) for MSME entrepreneurs in Bandung.
