BUKITTINGGI - An official vehicle for the Bukittinggi City Government, West Sumatra, was reported missing from a car garage owned by the local government.

"It's true, the Toyota Innova car with the number BA-1525-L has been missing since early June 2022. We have reported it to the police," said Head of the General Section of the Bukittinggi City Government Setdako Iqbal in Bukittinggi, Antara, Friday, August 5.

Iqbal admitted that his party was misled because at the time of the incident he was on duty outside the city of Bukittinggi. The municipal government car garage is located in the Gulai Bancah City Hall office area and does not have a good surveillance camera.

This City Hall is located in the north of Bukittinggi City which is directly adjacent to Agam Regency. This place is always guarded by Satpol PP officers.

It was also explained that the security cameras installed around the garage building could not be used as evidence because the recordings were inaccessible.

"The CCTV footage is not visible because the existing cameras are outdated. This car is usually used for operating guests who come to visit," said Iqbal.

According to him, his party has tried to find the whereabouts of the official car, starting from the internal Bukittinggi City Government. However, it has not come to fruition.

"Hopefully the missing car is found quickly. We hope the police can get a clue," he said.

He said the city government's current official vehicles are 191 units consisting of four-wheeled vehicles and two- and three-wheeled vehicles.
