BADUNG - A video of a foreign tourist allegedly about to be snatched by a group of people in Kuta, Badung, Bali, has gone viral.

In the 53-second video, it appears that a group of men were reprimanded by a video recorder who is also a local resident, for allegedly stealing the cellphones of foreign tourists.

After being reprimanded, the group of men immediately left the foreign tourists. Foreign tourists confirmed that their cellphones were about to be confiscated.

Kuta Police Chief Kompol Orpa Takalapeta said his party had seen the viral video. The police are investigating the perpetrator.

"We got the video this morning and we are currently investigating to find the perpetrators. Two days ago we only got two pickpockets, now we are detained at the Polsek," he said, Friday, August 5.

However, the two pickpockets who were arrested were not the perpetrators in the viral video.

"Not because the viral incident happened this morning," he said.
