JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is targeting the alleged bribery that occurred at the Pare Pratama Tax Office (KPP), East Java. This rash practice is suspected to be related to the processing of tax refunds for the Solo Kertosono toll road construction project.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that the alleged bribery was raised from the investigation to the investigation stage because the evidence pocketed by his party was sufficient.

"KPK is conducting an investigation into the alleged bribery case related to the processing of tax refunds for the Solo Kertosono Toll Road construction project at the Pratama Pare Tax office, East Java," Ali told reporters, Thursday, August 4.

Ali said the evidence in his pocket was obtained by examining a number of witnesses. However, the KPK has not announced who is named as a suspect or the construction of the case.

The KPK, continued Ali, will only announce the suspect after the KPK has forcibly detained him.

"We will of course deliver an official release regarding the parties named as suspects, the chronology of the alleged criminal acts, including the criminal articles suspected, when forced arrests and detentions were made," he said.

"In the process of investigating this case, evidence has also been collected by the Investigative Team, including the examination of various witnesses who can explain the alleged criminal act," Ali continued.

The public is asked to continue to monitor the investigation process carried out by the KPK. Ali ensures that all developments will be communicated.

"KPK will always convey the progress of the investigation of this case so that the public can also participate in monitoring," he concluded.
