JAKARTA - Head of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Zubairi Djoerban asked all parties at the airport to be alert to passengers who have symptoms leading to monkeypox.

"For example, if there are foreigners or Indonesians, anyone with skin disorders, on their hands or on their face, there are smallpox spots or something like chickenpox or herpes, they must report it immediately, there should be a post prepared there. health polyclinic," said Prof. Zubairi was reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 4.

This is important because now almost all countries have relaxed the rules for traveling.

"Nowadays, almost all countries have relaxed the rules for traveling, to enter and leave Indonesia, they have been greatly relaxed," he said.

Therefore, this vigilance must be owned by all parties in charge of transportation facilities, especially airports because it is the main entrance for passengers from abroad.

According to him, with this vigilance, the entry of monkeypox from abroad can be prevented.

Zubairi also asked health workers to be aware of all forms of symptoms of skin diseases such as itching or spots because they have the potential to suffer from monkeypox.

This is because more than 75 countries have reported cases of monkeypox, so it is very likely that this case already exists in Indonesia.

"Data shows that more than 75 countries have reported (cases of monkeypox)," he said.
