SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo hopes that the National Assimilation Forum (FPK) of Central Java Province can become a place for gathering various ethnic groups to create harmony and tolerance.

"If people make a mistake whether it's related to language, speech, and offending ethnicity, then this forum can be used to bring friendship between them and if things happen that have differences in ethnicity, religion, race, class, and so on, then they are quick to initiate and can suppress," said Ganjar after meeting with the Central Java Province FPK management in Semarang, Tuesday.

FPK Central Java Province consists of 19 ethnic groups who already understand the ins and outs of culture in Central Java Province. Ganjar saw many positive sides of the forum chaired by one of the political figures in Central Java, Muhammad Adnan.

He hopes that this forum can maintain national stability, and conduciveness in relations between nations.

"This is a qualitative work, it is invisible, but it must be maintained continuously. Many people ignore it, but when something explosive happens, sometimes it is not easy to extinguish it. So, if with intensive communication, we hope that all of us can be prevented. so," he said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of various ethnic groups such as from Dayak, Minang, former East Timor, Papua, Sunda to Java.

In the FPK there are representatives of religious beliefs and ex-terrorist convicts so that from this forum in the future they will mediate conflicts over ethnic, religious, racial, and inter-group issues.

The management of the Central Java FPK was inaugurated by Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen on Wednesday (20/7) with one of the missions to be carried out, namely to launch an action to counter radicalism and intolerance by increasing the values of Pancasila in the community.
