Gelora Party Schedules List Of Contestants For 2024 Election Sunday 7 August

JAKARTA - The People's Wave Party (Gelora) Indonesia has confirmed that it will register as participants in the 2024 General Election to the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Sunday, August 7, next.

Secretary General of the Gelora Party, Mahfuz Sidik, said that initially the Gelora Party planned to register with the KPU on the first day, Monday, August 1. However, due to information that there are already 10 parties that will register, it was decided to postpone the registration schedule until next week.

"We have held a meeting with the KPU, and we received information that there are already 10 parties that have registered. Finally, we agreed to postpone the registration schedule," Mahfudz told reporters, Tuesday, August 2.

According to Mahfudz, with the postponement of the registration schedule, the Gelora Party has the opportunity to re-examine the completeness of the data that has been entered in the KPU's political party information system (Sipol).

"There is also an opportunity for us to re-examine the perfection of the Sipol data that has been inputted to the KPU," he said.

Mahfudz claimed that the Gelora Party, which was founded on October 28, 2019, has succeeded in building most of its organizational infrastructure at the central and regional levels.

"In the midst of the pandemic situation and the existing limitations, thank God we managed to pass the challenge. When we registered, the Gelora Party was already present in all provinces, in 514 regencies/cities and 94 percent of sub-districts," he explained.

Therefore, Mahfudz believes that the Gelora Party will be appointed as a participant in the 2024 General Election on December 14 after the KPU has completed the administrative and factual verification process for all political parties.

"As a new party, the minimum target we have to achieve is 4 percent, although of course in policy, we will work to achieve a target greater than 4 percent, because according to our narrative, Indonesia is the fifth world power," said Mahfudz.

It is known, nine political parties have registered with the General Election Commission (KPU) on the first day of the registration stage of political parties as candidates for the 2024 General Election.

The nine political parties are the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), the Justice and Unity Party (PKP), the Reform Party (PR), the Prosperous People's Party (Prima), the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), the NasDem Party, and the Crescent Star Party (PBB). , the Prosperous Justice Party (PK), the Indonesian Sovereign State Party (Clever).

Meanwhile, the Nusantara Awakening Party (PKN) was the only political party to register on the second day today, Tuesday, August 2.
