INDRAMAYU - Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Lukman Syarif revealed the motives for the two suspected killers of an online taxi driver whose bodies were found in irrigation with duct tape wrapped around them, because both wanted to own the victim's property to pay off debts.

"The motive is to control the victim's property," said AKBP Lukman, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 2.

Lukman said the two suspects, Ashadi and Sandra, had planned to commit theft and murder, as well as targeting online taxi drivers whom they had ordered before.

Lukman continued, because both of them are addicted to online gambling, and are in a lot of debt, so they commit acts of theft accompanied by violence that result in the victim's death.

"The result of their investigation is that they are in debt (for online gambling)," he said.

Lukman explained that the murder occurred on Sunday (24/7) at around 21.00 WIB in a quiet area in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, by being strangled from behind, and after it was confirmed that he was dead, he was immediately wrapped with duct tape.

Then, the victim's body was taken by car by the suspect Sandra to East Java, and after arriving in Indramayu Regency, it was then dumped into irrigation.

"The victim's car has been sold to a dealer in East Java for Rp. 10 million," he said.

Currently, his party is still chasing the victim's car holder, while one of the perpetrators was shot in the leg for trying to fight the police when he was about to be arrested.
