JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) is still examining a number of witnesses related to the collapse of a building on Jalan Rawa Sawah II, Kampung Rawa Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta.

"So far, 9 witnesses have been examined. They are from the ditch (water channel) workers, we are checking and the surrounding community is aware of the incident," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, August 2.

However, until now, the process of examining witnesses is still on people who were around the location of the collapsed building.

"The owner of the house (building) has not been examined because he is still sick," he said.

Apart from the plumbing workers and witnesses from local residents who were questioned, it is also possible that the investigation will progress to the contractors and the Central Jakarta Housing Sub-Department.

"If needed later, we will ask for information (contractors and the Housing Sub-Department). At this time we are still investigating, and we are asking for witnesses," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police were still waiting for the results of an examination by the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) regarding the collapsed building on Jalan Rawa Sawah II, Kampung Rawa Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta.

"The results have not been released yet, we are still waiting for the results from the laboratory," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, August 2.

The police chief stated that if the results from the Labfor were out, it would be known what the main reason the building collapsed was due to what factors. So that the police can stipulate an article related to the case of a collapsed building which caused the death of one resident.

"Surely later, the results of the laboratory will explain what caused the collapse? Is it because the house is not in accordance with the specifications or is there an external factor," he said.

Kombes Komarudin stated that the results of the Puslabfor examination would be out in about five to seven days after the crime scene (TKP) was processed on Saturday, July 30.
