GARUT - Garut Police arrested a woman resident of Sukawening District, Garut Regency, West Java for creating and selling pornographic content through a number of her social media accounts, thereby making the people of Garut restless.

"Arrested based on reports from the public regarding a woman suspected of being a Garut resident who made a transaction service or conveyed an act of violating decency," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono during a press conference related to the pornography case in Garut, Antara, Monday, August 1.

"Seven means that the transaction between the perpetrator and the consumer is IDR 2.1 million, the transfer is through another application," said the Police Chief.

The suspect, said the Police Chief, admitted that he had carried out the pornography practice for two months and had already received tens of millions of rupiah.

As a result of his actions, the suspect languished in a detention cell at the Garut Police Headquarters and was charged with multiple layers of articles, namely Article 4 Paragraph (1) letter - d in conjunction with Article 29 of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography and/or Article 27 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.

A young Garut resident, Pramudya Ghifari, appreciates the police's action to legalize pornography perpetrators on social media because it has been troubling.
