Gibran Rakabuming Ensures Jokowi's Turn To Attend APG 2022 Closing

JAKARTA - The Chief Executive of the Indonesia National Paralympic Organization Committee (Inaspoc), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, confirmed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would attend the closing ceremony of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games this weekend.

"Yes (present), the closing will be different from the opening," said the Surakarta Mayor in Solo, Monday, August 1, quoted from Antara.

Asked about the tightening of health protocols in the closing ceremony of APG 2022, Gibran said, guests in rings 1 and 2 are required to undergo a swab test the day before the event.

"If the general public is safe, the case is still safe," he said.

As for the artist who will entertain at the closing of the APG, he still keeps it a secret so that it will be a surprise for the audience.

Meanwhile, Director III Games Support APG 2022, Henry Indrayani Oka, said that at the closing the number of artists involved would be more.

"We involve all artists and Solo artists," he said.

In line with Gibran, Henry said that so far the Presidential Palace confirmed the presence of President Jokowi at the closing ceremony.

"In the meantime, he confirmed his attendance," he said.

Regarding the health protocol rules, his party will still coordinate with those in charge of health.

"Regarding the mechanism in the second ring, we will meet again later. If the general public is still required to vaccinate and have a booster, the same as yesterday that we released for the opening ceremony," he said.
