To Be Used As A Tourist Area, Parking For The Kuto Besak Fort In Palembang Has Begun To Be Brought Under Control By Kodam II/Sriwijaya

PALEMBANG - Regional Military Command II/Sriwijaya has begun to organize and control the parking area of Fort Kuto Besak in Palembang, South Sumatra, to become an international tourist area.

The Logistics Assistant to the Chief of Staff of Kodam II/Sriwijaya, Colonel Sriyanto, in Palembang, Monday, said that Kodam II/Sriwijaya is targeting this tourist area, which also contains TNI assets, to become a convenient tourist destination for tourists.

“We have mapped the problems in the Kuto Besak Fort area, and one of them is the parking problem. A few days ago we coordinated with the Palembang City Government and found a solution," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, August 1.

He said the Kuto Besak Fort area, which is projected to become a tourist icon in Palembang City, will implement a parking management system with a parking door system.

Through this system, visitors who bring vehicles do not have to pay again to irresponsible people as people have complained about so far.

The TNI has concern for the community's unrest because the Kuto Besak Fort area is adjacent to or directly adjacent to Palembang City Government assets and Kodam II/Sriwijaya assets.

"What is clear is that we will carry out control and security together with the Palembang City Government," he said.

One of the agreements between the two parties is to jointly organize the Kuto Besak Fort area, starting from painting to repairing infrastructure after the land owned by the Health Kodam II/Sriwijaya facing the Musi River is free from street vendors.

"Traders need not worry, later a special area will be created for market snacks facing the Musi River, so that the location of this BKB is really suitable for international-scale tourism," he said.
