JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said, the interest in beauty products in Indonesia is very large.

"I recently visited the Jakarta x Beauty Exhibition (in Jakarta) which was visited by more than 60 thousand visitors who wanted local beauty products to be able to compete in the global market. Apparently, our local beauty products are not inferior," said Minister Sandiaga Uno via official statement at the Kubu Raya Regent's Office, West Kalimantan, Monday 1 August.

On that occasion, Sandiaga Uno attended the "Creative Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Training: Processing Aloe Vera Plants into Soap For Beauty" with the involvement of 100 participants initiated by the Entrepreneurial Community Movement (Gemawira) with the Kubu Raya Regency Government (Pemkab).

The training is considered as one of the efforts to encourage creative MSME actors to maximize existing opportunities, including utilizing the aloe vera plant into processed products with added value as beauty products.

“I see Kubu Raya and West Kalimantan have potential. For that, let's adapt, collaborate and innovate to be able to create an Indonesia that is even better, advanced, prosperous, just and prosperous," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno as quoted by Antara.

Sandiaga said, Indonesia's creative economy sector is said to be in the top three in the world in terms of percentage of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) after the United States with Hollywood and South Korea with K-pop.

A total of 34 million people in the country depend on the tourism and creative economy sectors, with details of almost 14 million more in the tourism sector and 20 million in the creative economy sector.

Regent of Kubu Raya Muda Mahendrawan explained that the presence of Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno was a motivation for people in Kubu Raya to be more creative in utilizing existing natural resources.

"With our good data system, it is important for us to know from time to time the development of MSMEs and creative economy actors to the absorption of KUR (people's business credit). And also encourage young people to create new opportunities to take advantage of natural resources so that the unemployment rate can be reduced," he said.
