PSI List Of Election Contestants On Wednesday Pon, Jokowi's Special Javanese Primbon

JAKARTA - The General Elections Commission (KPU) will open the registration of political parties participating in the 2024 General Election on Monday, August 1. Meanwhile, PSI plans to register on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Deputy Secretary General of the PSI DPP, Satia Chandra Wiguna, stated that the selection of PSI registration day coincided with Wednesday Pon, which is President Joko Widodo's special day.

Wednesday Pon is Jokowi's birthday. Jokowi also often chooses Wednesday Pon as the day when he reshuffles the cabinet in his government.

“PSI will register with the KPU on Wednesday Pon, August 10, 2022 at 10.00 WIB. Wednesday Pon was recommended by PSI management friends as a good day. Wednesday Pon is also Pak Jokowi's favorite day in making political decisions for the people," Chandra said in his statement.

Chandra said that currently the party led by Giring Ganesha has completed all the administrative requirements as candidates for the 2024 General Election. The data has been inputted 100 percent into the political party information system (Sipol).

“Alhamdulillah, PSI has completed all the KPU requirements. While there is time to wait until August 10, 2022, we want to re-check all documents so that they are 100% correct and valid," said Chandra.

Previously, the General Elections Commission announced that the registration of political parties as candidates for the 2024 general election (Pemilu) will be open for two weeks, starting in early August. This registration is part of the 2024 election stage.

"Registration of political parties will begin on Monday, August 1 to Sunday, August 14, 2022," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari.

Hasyim said the announcement of the registration of political parties is also accompanied by information on political parties that have registered and have Sipol accounts as of July 29, 2022 at 13.00 WIB, which are 39 national political parties and eight Aceh local political parties.

Furthermore, Hasyim said that the KPU had informed that the registration period would be from August 1 to 13, starting at 08.00-16.00 WIB. Meanwhile, on the last day of August 14, registration will be held at 08.00-23.59 WIB.

"Registration can be carried out by the leadership of a political party as a candidate for the general election or a representative who is authorized to represent by submitting a document for the registration of a political party and a statement signed by the leadership of a political party at the central level," he said.
