The Registration Of Political Parties As Candidates For The 2024 Elections Opened By KPU On August 1

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission announced that the registration of political parties as candidates for the 2024 general election (Pemilu) will be open for two weeks, starting in early August. This registration is part of the 2024 election stage.

"Registration of political parties will begin on Monday, August 1 to Sunday, August 14, 2022," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari in an official statement, quoted on Saturday, July 30.

Hasyim said the announcement of the registration of political parties is also accompanied by information on political parties that have registered and have Sipol accounts as of July 29, 2022 at 13.00 WIB, which are 39 national political parties and eight Aceh local political parties.

Furthermore, Hasyim said that the KPU had informed that the registration period would be from August 1 to 13, starting at 08.00-16.00 WIB. Meanwhile, on the last day of August 14, registration will be held at 08.00-23.59 WIB.

"Registration can be carried out by the leadership of a political party as a candidate for the general election or a representative who is authorized to represent by submitting a document for the registration of a political party and a statement signed by the leadership of a political party at the central level," he said.

The recapitulation of the number of administrators and members of the political parties as candidates for the general election uses the F-REKAP.PENDAFTAR-PARPOL MODEL.

Hasyim explained that the KPU will carry out verification of political parties on the schedule set in PKPU No. 4 of 2022 as follows:
