The Ministry Of Transportation And The Bali Police Coordinate Preparations Ahead Of The G20 Summit

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation held a coordination meeting with the Bali Police to prepare for the international event of the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali in November 2022.

The Director General of Land Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno and his staff discussed a number of issues such as traffic engineering management and also electric vehicles that will be used to serve the G20 Summit delegates.

“I want to synchronize our efforts to run the G20 with regard to transportation and traffic engineering issues. Basically, we are ready to just coordinate and we also need coordination regarding the implementation of the TFG (tactical floor game)," said Hendro at the Bali Police, Denpasar, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 29.

Hendro said the Ministry of Transportation has prepared 30 electric buses that will serve 4 corridors for electric bus services from the airport to Nusa Dua, and there are several more to support the implementation of the G20.

He hopes that all the work and implementation of G20 readiness can be carried out together.

“Everything is coordinated to make the G20 activities a success. Yesterday I spoke with the Governor of Bali regarding this activity and he responded well. Yesterday, the Menkomarves was informed that TFG would start around September 2022 and later we will see where we can help," he said.

Meanwhile, the Bali Police Chief, Putu Jayan Danu Putra, stated that he would hold the Puri Agung 2022 operation and deploy approximately 6,744 personnel.

"Of course, this is also backed up by the National Police Headquarters," he said.

There are seven objects that will be secured in total, starting from the airport along the route that will be secured, the Sawangan area, the GWK area, Mangrove Tahura, and Turtle Island.

Furthermore, there are eight intersections in the Bali area that need traffic engineering.

"This is where we need assistance from the Directorate General of Customs and Information together with our traffic officers deploying personnel at the intersection," said the Bali Police Chief.

In addition, the Bali Police will also deploy patrols from Polair along the route, especially on toll roads, considering that under the toll roads there are water areas under the toll roads.

The Bali Police expressed their gratitude to the Bali Transportation Service for providing facilities to connect CCTV so that it can be monitored at the command center.

"We are supported by the National Police Headquarters, especially at the entrances to the existing CCTV facilities equipped with FR or facial recognition features that will be connected to the command center," concluded the Bali Police Chief.
