Tasikmalaya Alert, COVID-19 Cases Begin To Trend Up

JAKARTA - Tasikmalaya raises awareness. The city government asked the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols and boosting vaccinations because the number of COVID-19 cases was increasing again.

"Daily cases fluctuate, but cumulatively there is an increase," said the Head of the Health Office of Tasikmalaya City, Uus Supangat, explaining that this city has 58 active cases.

The Tasikmalaya City Government continues to take anticipatory steps to prevent and break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 by reminding the public to discipline health protocols and vaccinations.

The thing that the public must be aware of, he said, is that there is still an increase in cases, then the potential for transmission from travel clusters, families and crowds of people.

"If you are in a crowd, you should still wear a mask," said Uus, quoted from Antara.

He conveyed that so far the local government has continued to carry out full-dose vaccination activities as a preventive measure and maintain public health.

In addition, he continued, people who have contracted the COVID-19 outbreak must undergo isolation until they are declared cured.

"If you need information or services regarding COVID-19, please contact the nearest health facilities, especially puskesmas," he said, Friday, July 29.

The daily report of the Tasikmalaya City COVID-19 Handling Task Force recorded a total of 19,669 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, with 58 active cases, 601 deaths, and the rest declared cured.
