PKS And Muhammadiyah Discuss The Importance Of Maintaining Unity During The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the Central Leadership (PP) Muhammadiyah discussed the importance of maintaining the unity and integrity of Indonesia in the midst of the presidential election and the 2024 general election.

"So what we talked about with PKS President Pak Ahmad Syaikhu, yes, what things are very important for us to do in the future. What is clear is that we hope that our unity and integrity will not be torn apart by the presidential election and the 2024 election," said PP Muhammadiyah Chairman Anwar Abbas to reporters at the Muhammadiyah Da'wah Center building, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 29.

This unity and integrity, he continued, is important to maintain in order to make Indonesia a superpower in the world by 2045.

In addition to discussing the importance of maintaining unity and integrity, on the same occasion, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu said that his party also received inputs from PP Muhammadiyah.

"This friendship, we want to get direct input from the leadership of Muhammadiyah, Buya Anwar in particular, and all ranks. Thank God, we got a lot of things," said Syaikhu.

He hopes that these inputs can become material for PKS in maximizing its duties as a political party in order to advance Indonesia.

Syaikhu conveyed that the meeting between PKS and Muhammadiyah which started from Friday afternoon until this afternoon was a meeting with a family nuance.

"We were received very well and family-friendly. The discussion was also rather warm, especially when it was directly led by Buya Anwar, the atmosphere of our discussion was lively," he said.

Previously, Syaikhu and a number of PKS representatives, such as PKS Secretary General Habib Abu Bakar Alhabsyi arrived at the Muhammadiyah Da'wah Center Building at 13.30 WIB.

Their arrival was welcomed by several parties from PP Muhammadiyah, such as Anwar Abbas and General Secretary (Sekum) of PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu'ti. The two sides held a closed meeting until 15.21 WIB.
