BADUNG - The Badung Police Team, Bali, arrested a gang of thieves who stole optical internet iron poles in the Regency area of Badung, Bali.

There were four perpetrators, namely Dominikus Kaka alias Domi (28), Slamet Edy Pranowo alias Edy (41), Danang Jati Prasetyo alias Danang (25) and Sariyono alias Ari (28). The perpetrator disguised himself as a project employee by using the project uniform and helmet.

"They disguised themselves using project clothes and helmets, posing as if they were workers from the company. So, the public did not suspect anything and then stole internet poles," said Badung Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Leo Dedy Defretes, Friday, July 29.

The action of the gang of thieves was discovered on Saturday, July 9 afternoon in Banjar Auman and Banjar Bon, Plaga Village, Petang District, Badung.

"There is quite a lot of evidence. These are (stealing) internet poles that are on the sides of the road. Where the modus operandi is doing undercover, disguised using project clothes and helmets, so that people do not suspect or people who also not suspicious," said AKBP Leo.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Badung Police, AKP I Putu Ika Prabawa Kartima Utama, said the perpetrators stole the internet pole in stages.

"This perpetrator did not take all of them. So gradually. One day they took one or two poles," he said.

There were 11 metal optical internet poles, pickup trucks, crowbars, and project uniforms that were secured by the police as evidence.

The perpetrators carried out their actions in several areas in Badung Regency, Bali. The loot is sold to collectors.

"And for the sale of goods (in) the wreckage, there are collectors for these scrap metal poles. The price is below standard, to make daily necessities," he said.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) regarding theft and weighting with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.
