CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, facilitated the creation of young people by allowing the Cianjur Fashion Week to be held in Taman Alun-alun or at the Cianjur Regent's Hall, as long as it is not at a zebra cross or road crossing because it can jam traffic.

Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said the SCBD Fashion Week phenomenon in the Dukuh Atas area, Jakarta, which has begun to go viral in a number of areas including Cianjur, will be fully supported by the local government which is trying to restore the economy.

"We will support it as long as the activity is positive and can become an exhibition venue for MSME actors in Cianjur, especially Cianjuran batik which can be demonstrated at the Cianjur youth creation event," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 28.

Herman said that places that could be used, such as Taman Alun-alun and Cianjur Hall, some time ago had been used as a stage for fashion shows and exhibitions and marketing for MSME actors with their superior products, especially those related to fashion.

His party prohibits these activities from being carried out at the zebra cross which is clearly used to cross and can disrupt the traffic flow which is quite heavy every day in the city center of Cianjur.

"Don't hold a similar event in the same place because we will not allow it. Please use the Cianjur square and pavilion for fashion shows in the hope of developing the interests and talents of Cianjur youth," he said.

A few days earlier, a number of young people in Cianjur had made the zebra cross in the city center precisely on Jalan Mangunsarkoro, Sayang Village, as a fashion show stage like SCBD Fashion Week in Depok, West Java.

Jalan Mangunsarkoro, better known as the Shianghai intersection, was chosen because it has a Dutch heritage cultural heritage building which was quite interesting when it was used as the background for the Cianjur Fashion Week activities, but this activity was prohibited by the local government because it could disrupt traffic flow.
