BANTUL - The Bantul Regency Government has allocated a budget of IDR 4.89 billion for the simultaneous election of lurah or village heads in 21 villages. The event is scheduled to take place on September 25.
Head of the Bantul Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMK), Sri Nuryanti, said the entire budget for its implementation was regulated in Bantul Regent Regulation No. 24 of 2022 concerning Special Financial Assistance to 21 Villages for the 2022 Lurah Simultaneous Election.
He said that special financial assistance should be used for the operations of the Village Consultative Body (Bamuskal) as the person in charge of the village election, the operation of the village-level election committee.

"The use of Special Financial Assistance for the procurement of health protocol tools is carried out if the stage of organizing the village election is still in the emergency response period for the COVID-19 pandemic," he said in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Thursday, July 28.
He said that currently the simultaneous village head elections are in the process of verifying the prospective lurah candidates who have registered themselves in each village by Bamuskal and the lurah election committee before being designated as lurah candidates in early September 2022.
"There are a total of 80 potential candidates, but six people from Sidomulyo Village are being reduced due to the extension of time. For the current stage, the verification of prospective candidates is going to candidates," he said.
