Mataram Police Destroyed Over 70 Grams Of Cannabis Packages Sent From Pekanbaru

MATARAM - The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, destroyed a package containing marijuana that came from Pekanbaru City, Riau.

The Head of the Mataram Police, Kombes Mustafa, explained that the destruction of marijuana was part of the investigator's efforts to complete the case file material.

"So this destruction is a condition for the completeness of the files and then we will hand them over to the research prosecutor," said Mustafa in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, July 28.

In addition, his party carried out the destruction of the marijuana evidence as an effort to prevent heavy depreciation and loss of evidence. "Documentation of this activity will later be a complete file," he said.

The weight of cannabis packaged from the West reaches at least 70 grams. The police confiscated from the arrests of three men in the Ampenan area, Mataram City, last Monday, July 11.

The arrests of three men with the initials DS (41) from Malang, DK (40) from Jombang, and RW (40), the owner of the house suspected of being the recipients of the goods, originated from the results of the investigation of Customs information.

In the arrest of the three, the police also confiscated an air softgun complete with gas bullets, a small knife, an ATM card, a cell phone, a savings book, and cigarette paper.

The results of the investigation revealed that the package sent from Pekanbaru was ordered by RW. The other two are suspected of being couriers.

The implementation of the destruction of marijuana evidence by the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Mataram Police also brought together parties from the prosecutor's office, courts, and suspects who were accompanied by legal counsel.

Evidence is destroyed by covering it with diesel fuel and then burning it in an iron barrel. The activity took place in the Central Square of the Mataram Police Headquarters.
