Gerindra Postpones Rapimnas So August 13, Dasco: Declaration Of Prabowo Capres And Coalition With PKB

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party has postponed the implementation of the national leadership meeting (Rapimnas) to August 13. The Rapimnas was originally scheduled for July 30.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that Rapimnas would be a forum to inquire about Prabowo Subianto's readiness to run again as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. This is because the party bearing the garuda head symbol has not declared the Minister of Defense as a presidential candidate in an official forum.

"According to the articles of association, the Gerindra Party has never declared a presidential candidate. Now, it was done at the Rapimnas forum," said Dasco at the DPR building, Wednesday, July 27.

In addition, said Dasco, Rapimnas will also be a momentum for the Gerindra Party and the National Awakening Party (PKB) to formalize a coalition for the 2024 General Election.

"There is also an agenda for the declaration of a coalition, so that the meeting with the PKB yesterday was also agreed," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR.

The plan, said Dasco, is that PKB General Chairman Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar will also attend the forum.

"It's impossible for us to declare together," said Dasco.

Previously, the Gerindra Rapimnas would be held on July 30, but it was postponed to August 13. The Gerindra Party National Meeting itself will be held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor Regency.
