JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri mentioned the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) when he opened the Smart Politics with Integrity (PCB) activity which was participated by the National Awakening Party (PKB). While joking, he asked who the candidate would be.

Initially, Firli reminded that political parties must be clean from corrupt practices because of their four important roles. First, the party is the ruler of the people's vote.

This reason then makes anyone who will run for president must be close to a political party.

"Political parties dominate the people's voices. So, if you want to become president, you must be close to a political party. Because to this day no one has been able to nominate a president without being endorsed by a political party or a combination of political parties," said Firli as shown on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Tuesday. , July 26.

"I just don't know who this PKB is," he continued, greeted with laughter from PKB cadres who were present at the activity.

Firli emphasized that the party must be clean because it gave birth to people's representatives. "There is no person who becomes the people's representative, whether it is the DPRD at the regency, city, provincial or DPR RI levels who can be without political parties," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

Furthermore, the party is also called the producer of leaders. "Fourth, political parties determine law regulations through people's representatives. No regional regulations are made without the regional DPR, no governor regulations can be drawn up without approval. Likewise with laws," he said.

This condition prompted Firli to remind political parties not to buy and sell votes. They must be honest in carrying out their role.

"The people's voice is the voice of God, which means that the people's voice should not be traded," said Firli.
