Task Force: Only Central Java Places PMK Task Forces In All Regencies And Cities

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Expert Team for the Task Force for Handling Mouth and Nail Diseases (Satgas PMK) Wiku Adisasmito said that only Central Java (Central Java) has assigned PMK Task Forces in all districts or cities.

The formation of the PMK Task Force is regulated in the PMK Task Force Circular No. 1 concerning the Establishment of the Regional Handling Task Force in 2022, involving all community-based pentahelix components which include government elements including TNI-Polri, private sector, academics, experts, community associations and the media.

"The mapping shows that only Central Java has a province and all regencies/cities that have formed a PMK Task Force. Then followed by the Provinces of Aceh, Riau Islands, Jambi, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara, where some districts/cities have formed the PMK Task Force," he said. in a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday 26 July.

Furthermore, Wiku said, there were cases of PMK in a number of areas that had not yet fully formed the PMK Task Force either at the provincial, district or city level, including North Sumatra, Lampung, West Kalimantan, Banten and Yogyakarta which were red zones.

Furthermore, Bangka Belitung is a yellow zone where the formation of a new PMK Task Force is formed at the provincial level.

As for the province of West Java, which is a red zone, the formation of a new Task Force is carried out at the district or city level, precisely in Garut Regency.

It needs attention, he continued, based on the Antara report, there are areas affected by the PMK case that have not yet formed a PMK Task Force, including West Sumatra and Central Kalimantan which are included in the red zone.

Then South Kalimantan, South Sumatra, and South Sulawesi which are included in the yellow zone.

Wiku regretted this because Indonesia is currently in an emergency situation, and the formation of the Task Force is one of the important steps in controlling the outbreak.

"Therefore, we reaffirm to local, provincial, and district/city governments whose territories have been confirmed to be infected with PMK, and have not yet formed a PMK Task Force team to immediately establish a Task Force as an effort to accelerate PMK control," said Wiku.

In addition, local, provincial and district or city governments whose territories are included in the green zone are encouraged to form a PMK Task Force as a preventive measure against outbreaks.
