JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health appealed to the public who participated in picking up the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang as well as those welcoming in Petamburan, Central Jakarta to check themselves into a health facility if they feel sick or experience symptoms of COVID. -19.

Acting Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Budi Hidayat said this was necessary to prevent the occurrence of COVID-19 in the community.

"Whoever he is, if when he returns home he shows symptoms of COVID-19, he must check himself and report to the puskesmas or hospital," Budi said when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, November 11.

After that, the Health Office will carry out a search for close contacts or tracing to track the spread of COVID-19. "Because if there are tracing cases and there are symptoms. Then we will do tracing," he said.

Budi hopes that the public will implement health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing their hands diligently to prevent exposure to this virus.

"What is important when people do activities, the most important thing is to implement health protocols," he said.

"We have also been aggressively conveying to the public that anyone who feels that they have symptoms such as COVID-19 can immediately check and report it to the nearest health facility and the system is already running at the health center and the respective health service," he added.

Previously, the mass picking up Rizieq Shihab received attention from various parties. Moreover, epidemiologists assess that the crowd that occurs when the crowd picks up Rizieq has the potential to create a new cluster for the spread of COVID-19.

Rizieq arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday, November 10 after more than three years in Saudi Arabia. Rizieq Shihab was greeted by a crowd of pick-ups who filled the Terminal 3 area of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Judging from the YouTube Front TV live streaming account, Rizieq Shihab returned to Indonesia with his family. Meanwhile, the pick-up crowd filled all sides of the arrival terminal area from the international route.

There were also lines forming a fence to make way for Rizieq Shihab from terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Apart from crowding around the airport, the crowd was also at the residence of the FPI High Priest in the Petamburan area, Jakarta. They also held dhikr, prayer services, and prayed for Habib Rizieq's safety during the trip.
