JAKARTA - Television news presenter Brigita Purnawati Manohara will return money and gifts allegedly received from the inactive Regent of Central Mamberamo suspect Ricky Ham Pagawak to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"All the flow of funds and gifts that were allegedly the result of corruption by the suspect, I will further coordinate the return with investigators," Brigita said after being questioned at the KPK building, reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 25.

The KPK examined Brigita as a witness in the investigation into the alleged bribery and gratification case in the implementation of various projects in the Central Mamberamo Regency Government, Papua, which allegedly ensnared Ricky Ham Pagawak as a suspect.

During the examination, Brigita Manohara admitted that he received 17 questions from KPK investigators regarding suspect Ricky Ham Pagawak, who is currently on a wanted list (DPO) for fleeing to Papua New Guinea.

"In the process, I conveyed the fact that I had known the suspect and that I had received a flow of funds and gifts from the suspect as an appreciation for my profession, namely a presenter and communication consultant," he explained.

When confirmed regarding the amount of money received, he declined to elaborate further; but he confirmed that he would return the money to the KPK.

"Later, investigators will explain further; what is important here is that I will return all the flow of funds and gifts that are considered the result of corruption," he said.

The KPK is currently investigating cases of alleged bribery and gratification related to the implementation of various projects in the Central Mamberamo Regency Government.

The KPK will convey to the public which parties are designated as suspects, the chronology of the description of the case, to what articles are suspected when the investigation is sufficient and efforts have been made to force arrest or detention.

In investigating the case, the KPK has also prevented Ricky Ham Pagawak and three other people from traveling abroad.
