JAKARTA - An accident occurred between the patrol operation vehicle of the East Jakarta Metro Police and two motorcycles on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Sunday, July 24, yesterday.

East Jakarta Regional Head of Traffic, AKBP Edy Surasa said the accident began when a patrol car drove from Cawang UKI towards the Cililitan Wholesale Center (PGC).

Then, the patrol car was about to make a U-turn on a loop near the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). Then, at that time, two motorbikes passed fast on the Transjakarta lane and hit the patrol car that was turning in that direction.

"The patrol car was traveling from north to south, when it was on the BKN round, it was about to turn north again. At that time the motorbike was speeding from the busway (Transjakarta) and hit the patrol car," said AKBP Edy, Monday, July 25.

AKBP Edy said the two motorcycles, one of which was riding in a car.

"There were two motorbikes that crashed. One was a passenger, one was alone. The motor was an Aerox type," said Edy.

The motorcyclist involved in the accident suffered injuries and was immediately taken to the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, for medical treatment.

"They only suffered minor injuries on the hands and feet, it was the one who was riding, if the blisters themselves continued to be taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, AKBP Edy confirmed that there was only one person in the patrol car, namely the driver, who was in good condition.

However, the accident caused the front bumper of the patrol car to come off. Then the side of the car also suffered abrasions from the impact.

"The car is only part of the bumper, the bumper is off," he said

Meanwhile, Kasat Samapta Bhayangkara (Sabhara) of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Khairuddin said the patrol car driver was in good condition.

He also confirmed that the accident was true.

"Yes, this morning at 01.00 WIB our patrol car was hit by two motorbikes, (the driver) Alhamdulillah, the condition is good," he said.
