Lampung Police Destroys Narcotics After 3 Months Of Operation, Starting From 68 Kg Of Cannabis, Shabu And 1,287 Ecstasy Pills

LAMPUNG - The Lampung Police's Drug Investigation Directorate has destroyed tens of kilograms of narcotics resulting from crimes in the past 3 months.

"The destruction of these illicit goods is based on the law and is one of the conditions for delegating the suspect," said Head of the Supervision and Investigation Section (Kabag Wasidik) of the Lampung Police Narcotics Directorate, AKBP Darman Gumay at the Lampung Police Headquarters, Antara, Monday, July 25.

He continued that the tens of kilograms of narcotics that were destroyed consisted of 68 kilograms of marijuana, 3.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, and 1,287 pills of ecstasy. The destruction of the illicit goods, he continued, was the result of the disclosure of 15 suspects from 15 reports submitted to the Lampung Police Headquarters.

"In addition, the items we destroyed were also entrusted to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Lampung," he said.

The Head of the Sub-Division of Public Information (Kasubbid Penmas) of the Lampung Police, AKBP Rahmad Hidayat, appealed to all Lampung people, especially teenagers, not to use prohibited items such as marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and other prohibited items.

He also emphasized to the public to immediately report to the police if anyone is found to have misused narcotics or transactions of illegal goods occurred.

"Immediately report to the nearest police if there are suspicions in their respective areas, such as people who abuse narcotics. Let's support the government's program to eradicate these illicit goods," he said.

Before being destroyed, the illegal goods are first checked by local officials to ensure the authenticity of the goods when they are about to be destroyed.

The narcotics, which consisted of marijuana, methamphetamine, and ecstasy, were destroyed by burning in a drum that was previously sprinkled with gasoline.
