US Joint Chiefs Of Staff: Indonesia Is Important Country For US

JAKARTA - The United States (US) Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark AA Milley, stated that Indonesia is an important country for the US.

"It is important for Southeast Asia, Asia and the whole world," said Mark Milley, after meeting the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, at TNI Headquarters, in Cilangkap, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, July 24.

He explained that more than two-thirds of international trade passes through the Pacific region and most of it comes by sea in Indonesia.

"As the fourth largest country and the largest Muslim country, as well as a formidable professional military and US military partner," he also said.

He invited Indonesia to work hand in hand with the TNI and the Indonesian people. In addition, he also supports information and other countries in the region to strengthen cooperation in the future.

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has established military cooperation with the United States, marked by the visit of the US Chief of Staff/Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) General Mark AA Milley at TNI Headquarters.

"This arrival after 14 years of not carrying out a working visit to Indonesia," said TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa.

Andika revealed that various things were discussed at the meeting, with the aim of increasing friendship, joint training to increase self-confidence and ability to face security challenges.
