Billing Rice Payment Debts To Entrepreneurs, NTT Bulog Accompanied By The Attorney General's Office

JAKARTA - The East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office provides legal assistance to the Bulog Regional Office of the NTT Regional Office to carry out non-litigation activities in the form of collecting rice payment debts to a number of business actors in the local area.

"We have received an application from the NTT Bulog to help collect Bulog's rice debt payments to a number of rice businesses in NTT," said Head of East Nusa Tenggara, Hutama Wisnu in Kupang, Sunday, July 24.

The request from Perum Bulog, Representative of the Province of NTT, is related to the debts for the purchase of rice which have not yet been realized by the rice business actors in NTT.

He explained that the NTT Prosecutor's Office immediately summoned the business actors to conduct mediation to settle all arrears in the purchase of rice that had not been handed over to the NTT Bulog.

"We first mediate with the business actors, so they can pay off the rice purchase debt that has not been paid to Bulog," said the Attorney General's Office.

He explained that the NTT Prosecutor's Office also made direct collections to business actors if there was no good intention from the business actors concerned to pay off their arrears.

"We will invite the relevant parties to settle the debts according to the mechanism carried out by the Prosecutor's Office. If there are those who meet the elements of a criminal act, they will be processed by criminal law," he said.

He explained, in addition to inviting rice business actors, the NTT Prosecutor's Office also invited Bulog to attend the mediation process for the settlement of rice debts that have not been realized by rice business actors in NTT.
