SIGI - The Regional Government of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, has provided 26.9 hectares of land for the construction of satellite-based permanent housing (huntap) to accelerate the fulfillment of the needs of residents affected by the earthquake and liquefaction of housing.

Sigi Deputy Regent Samuel Yansen Pongi, in Sigi, Saturday, said that the construction of non-regional or satellite permanent housing is an approach taken by the government to accelerate community recovery, especially from the aspect of housing needs.

Samuel Pongi admitted that he represented the Regent of Sigi Mohamad Irwan at the handover of the signing of the contract for the construction of the temporary shelters phase II, in Palu, Thursday, July 21.

"Of course we are very grateful to the Central Government, Central Sulawesi Provincial Government, and the Disaster Management Task Force who have worked well to accelerate the recovery of communities and areas affected by the 2018 disaster," he said.

He added, to support the smooth and accelerated construction of the satellite-based shelter phase II, the Sigi Regency Government has completed matters relating to administration, including preparing the construction of an area of 26.9 hectares.

Based on data from the Public Works and Housing Office of Sigi Regency, the 26.9 hectare land is spread out in Loru, Tuwa, Lambara, Salua, Poi, Proud, North Sibalaya, and South Sibalaya villages.
