COVID-19 Update As Of July 23: 4,943 New Cases, Recovered Reaches 4,108 People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today.

The cumulative total cases are 6,164,271 since the first case was announced in March 2020. Meanwhile, new cases per day have reached 4,943 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases today increased by 4,108 people, bringing the total to 5,968,304 people recovered. Meanwhile, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 9 people and a total of 156,902 people.

Meanwhile, the province with the most new cases was DKI Jakarta with 2,661 new cases and a total of 1,309,298 cases. Consisting of 2,523 local transmissions and 138 foreign travelers (PPLN).

Followed by West Java with 845 new cases and a total of 1,126,394 cases. It consists of 840 local transmissions and 5 PPLN.

Then, Banten with 553 new cases and the total reached 306,395 cases. Consists of local transmission 551 and 2 PPLN.

Furthermore, East Java with 285 new cases and a total of 582,688 cases recorded. Consists of 279 local transmissions and 6 PPLN.

Then, Bali with 175 new cases and a total of 161,184 cases recorded. Consists of 174 local transmissions and 1 PPLN.

Then, Central Java with 94 new cases and a total of 629,665 cases. Consists of local transmission 94 and 3 PPLN.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,500 cases.

Then followed by Banten with 676 cases recovered. Then, West Java with an additional 376 cases, and East Java with 254 cases recovered.

"The highest death cases were in Central Java, 3 people and 1 person in East Java," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, July 23.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 104,640. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 102,779,858.

As for the details, 41,980,627 were examined by RT-PCR, 298,839 by the TMC method and 60,500,392 people were tested for antigen.

"For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 5,871 people," he said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from 17 to 23 July 2022 is 5.94 percent. While the daily positivity rate is 7.22 percent.

Currently, the number of people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination has increased by 59,709 and the total has reached 202,163,392, and the second dose of vaccination has increased by 63,732, the cumulative total has reached 169,783,164.

The achievement of the third dose of vaccination (booster) increased by 444,903 and the total reached 54,335,921. Meanwhile, the vaccination target reached 208,265,720 people.
