Mobile Phone Snatcher In Matraman Escapes To Pulogadung, Residents Chased Until Falling In Rawamangun

JAKARTA - Urged by economic needs, two young men with the initials AR (23) and HA (25) were desperate to snatch cellphones belonging to residents on Jalan Pramuka entering the Senen area, Central Jakarta. The perpetrator before being caught fled towards Pulogadung, East Jakarta, but was caught by the residents.

The two perpetrators were successfully arrested by residents on Jalan Haji Ten, Rawamangun, Pulogadung, East Jakarta. The perpetrator was arrested after being chased by residents who were pursuing them from the Central Jakarta area.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Pulogadung Police, AKP Heru Sugiarto said the incident began when the male victim with the initials DS was playing with his cellphone on the side of the road.

Then, they were snatched by two male perpetrators with the initials AR (23) and HA (25) who were riding a motorcycle.

"The victim is still playing with his cellphone on the side of the road and continues to be taken. The crime scene (TKP) is located on Jalan Pramuka, in the Senen area, Central Jakarta. One cellphone was stolen," Heru told reporters, Saturday, July 23.

He continued, the victim chased the two perpetrators who immediately fled on a motorbike. The two perpetrators fled to the Pulogadung area, East Jakarta.

In the end, because of the constant pursuit of panic, the two perpetrators fell on Jalan Haji Ten, Rawamangun, Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

Before the mob judged the perpetrator, the local neighborhood security guard immediately put him in the Poskamling.

"Chasing the same victim continues to fall into the custody of the residents," he said.

Heru continued, his party also came to the post to secure the situation while waiting for members of the police from the Senen Police to come to take the perpetrator.

The reason for the two perpetrators to take their cellphones was because they were pressed for economic needs.

"The reason for snatching is for daily needs," he said.

Then, the Senen Police took the two perpetrators for further processing. The victim's cellphone was also seized as evidence.

"The cellphone and the perpetrator were secured to the Senen Police. The cellphone was brought as evidence. If the brand of the cellphone was stolen, the Xiaomi Note 10S was white," he said.
