The SAR Team Continues To Search For Said Latu, Who Disappeared Because The Ship Capsized, Hit By Obak In The Waters Of Gunak

JAKARTA - The joint SAR team is still searching for the missing victims of the speedboat that capsized in the waters of Gunak, Eastern Seram Regency, Thursday, July 21, yesterday at 11.00 WIT.

"Before leaving, the Commander of KP (Police Vessel) 1007 gave directions to the team and checked personnel involved in SAR operations in the waters of Gunak Village, SBT (Eastern Seram) Regency," said the Daily Executor of the Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Pol Denny Abrahams, Friday. The fast boat with seven passengers from Slide, SBT, capsized when it was about to go to Kilmury. The ship was hit by waves in the waters of Tanjung Ini.

Six people survived the incident, while another, Said Latu, 52, is still being searched.

The search began in Gunak waters after the Ambon Basarnas team arrived at the SBT Police, Friday morning. After coordinating with the Deputy Chief of Police and Head of Polairud SBT, as well as the crew of KP 1007 Pos Sandar Bula, the team then departed for the search location.

On the way to the search location, the joint SAR team used a truck belonging to Basarnas by taking the land route to Guli-guli Village.

Next, the team covered a distance of approximately five miles by sea using an inflatable boat belonging to Basarnas to the location of the marine accident in the waters of Gunak.

"Until now the search is still ongoing," he said.

The survivors in the incident were Bahri (25), Baharudin (30), La Inta (24), Sakiru (43), Nursadikin (39), and Irfan (18).

The joint SAR team that carried out the search operation consisted of personnel from the Eastern Seram Police and the Air and Water Police Unit (Satpolairud), together with the Ambon Basarnas.
