SUMBAR - The Pariaman District Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) has stopped the case of alleged corruption in the construction of the Manggung Village Office, North Pariaman District.

The head of the Pariaman Prosecutor's Office, Azman Tanjung, said the case was dismissed because the former head of the Manggung village paid for the losses caused by his corruption.

Azman conveyed this during the 62nd Adhyaksa Bhakti Day with the theme "Legal Certainty, Humanism, towards National Economic Recovery" in Pariaman, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Friday, July 22.

"The state's loss value is small and the former village head has made efforts to repay it in installments," he said.

Based on the report on the calculation of the lack of work volume on the construction of the village office on April 20, 2021, Azman said the state loss from the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Manggung Village Office amounted to Rp. 57.6 million.

He continued, the former village head had paid Rp 5 million in installments for the state loss on Thursday, July 2.

Azman emphasized that his party will continue to collect the remaining money until all state losses due to his actions are returned to the state treasury.

The effort made by the Pariaman Kejari is a form of recovery and saving state finances. The Head of Special Crimes at the Pariaman Kejari, Yandi Mustiqa, added that Rp 5 million had been deposited into the state treasury and his party was waiting for the person concerned to pay the rest.

"Currently, he is concerned with a ring operation on the heart, so we can't force it," he said. After the person has recovered, further efforts will be made.
