Cilegon – Five people have been named as suspects in the case of counterfeiting gallon-sized Aqua brand mineral water in Cilegon. The Banten Police Chief of Cilegon Police AKBP Eko Tjahyo Untoro said the perpetrators with the initials MB (32), TH (30), SF (34), YF (30), and SM (34) committed a consumer protection crime related to counterfeiting the contents of gallon mineral water.
"Saturday (July 16) at around 13.00, Unit II Satreskrim Polres Cilegon conducted a patrol which then saw suspicious activity. So members came in and checked and saw five perpetrators replacing the Hydro X-tra gallon cap with the Aqua branded gallon cap, while the contents of the gallon water came from a water depot," said Eko, in a written statement, Friday, July 22.
Then Eko explained, after replacing the gallon cap which was originally branded Hydro X-tra and replaced with a gallon cap branded Aqua, the perpetrators distributed it to shops and stalls," he explained.

Eko appealed to the public to be more careful in purchasing mineral water.
“If you buy gallon mineral water, look again at the serial number between the gallon cap and the serial number on the gallon. If it is different, then the seller can ask the seller again because it is known that if the water or gallon is fake, then the serial number is closed by the bottle and the body of the water gallon is different," concluded Eko.
