Rizieq Shihab Is Believed To Be Involved In Politics In The 2024 Presidential Election, Who Will Be Supported?

JAKARTA - Former High Priest of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab has been released on parole from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. Rizieq's sentence is valid until June 10, 2023.

When he is free, will Rizieq be involved in political conditions again in the 2024 General Election? Political observers from Al Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, Rizieq are allowed to maneuver again like the 2019 election.

According to Ujang, it is undeniable that Rizieq has a fairly large mass of followers, when he looks at the 2019 political contestation. He can use this capital to support presidential candidates in 2024.

"Habib Rizieq is a public figure who is indeed involved in politics. In supporting activities in a democratic country, that's normal. Will he be involved in politics in 2024? Possibly yes, because there are people who want to be fought for, whether it's a moral revolution or something. So, We need a presidential or vice-presidential candidate who can actually realize what he is fighting for," said Ujang when contacted, Friday, July 22.

However, Ujang said it was not yet certain who Rizieq would support. Bearing in mind, there is currently no certainty about the figures who will run in the 2024 Presidential Election later.

"In the past, there was no choice because there were only two pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates. In fact, Prabowo himself used to be sticky, now he just leaves Rizieq when he is sued for problems," explained Ujang.

"I see it can also be to other figures or figures. Depending on the interests alone, the same interests between Rizieq and certain candidates for president, that will make mutual support," he continued.

As is known, Rizieq will be released on parole starting Wednesday, July 20, 2022 after obtaining the right of remission and integration in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2022.

On the same day after being released on parole, Rizieq immediately held a press conference and told about the process of his release. There was something interesting in a press statement held by Rizieq in Petamburan, Jakarta. Rizieq touched on the issue of an emergency state of lies. Initially, Rizieq stated that he would continue the struggle to revolutionize morality.

"As I have said when I arrived in the country when I returned from the holy city of Mecca, that is, let's keep repeating it, namely the moral revolution, the moral revolution in a moral way," Rizieq said in a press conference broadcast live via the Islamic Brotherhood YouTube account. Television (IBTV).

Rizieq then mentioned the condition of the country that was damaged. According to him, the emergency of lying has become entrenched in this country.

"How do we have a country where there is damage, everywhere there is evil, Brother, then lies have become entrenched and our country is in an emergency of lies," he explained.

"Therefore, what I want to convey here, Brother, is what is an emergency for lies, what is an emergency for corruption, what is an emergency for injustice, what is a debt emergency, what is an economic emergency and so on, so the key is, let's work together. treat all that with a moral revolution," continued Rizieq.
