DEMAK - Police confirmed that there were no casualties in the fertilizer factory fire in Mranggen, Demak Regency, Central Java.

"There were no victims, all they had to do was extinguish the embers," said Demak Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Budi Adhy Buono, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 21.

According to him, firefighters from the Demak Regency and Semarang City Governments helped extinguish the fire in addition to preparing water tanker trucks.

Officers, he continued, also assisted in the evacuation of patients at the Pelita Anugerah Mranggen Hospital, which was located close to the burning factory.

The police chief said there were 78 patients, including a number of babies who were still undergoing treatment.

There was also the cause of the fire, he continued, could not be sure.

The investigation of the scene, he said, will be carried out by the Central Java Police Forensic Laboratory team after the location is declared safe.
