Sandiaga Uno Invites Women To Play A More Role In The Creative Economy Sector

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno invites women to increase their role in the development of the tourism sector and creative economy in the country.

"We must prioritize women's empowerment and gender equality. So, great and independent women must be given opportunities and empowerment," said Menparekraf Sandiaga in a written statement, Thursday, July 21.

Sandiaga said around 55 percent of women are tourism actors in Indonesia. Thus, strengthening women is the main thing to revive the economy and create jobs.

"So at the W20 Summit conference, we hope that there will be recommendations that we can bring to the Bali Guidelines which will become the outcome document in the Tourism Working Group," he said.

In addition, Sandiaga said that his party would collect data on the involvement of women in the creative and creative sector, so that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can formulate policies that are right on target, have the right benefits, and are timely to strengthen the participation of women in the development of the tourism and creative sector.

"We also strongly support women to optimize the distribution of their full potential in an effort to encourage economic revival and create job opportunities for the community," said Sandiaga.
