TANGERANG - A total of 412 cattle in Tangerang Regency were declared cured of mouth and nail disease (PMK). The hundreds of cattle consisted of 340 cows, 13 buffaloes, 14 goats and 45 sheep.

"Of the total cases of 620 animals affected by FMD, currently 412 animals have been declared cured. The remaining one died and 207 were slaughtered during the sacrifice," said Head of Animal Health and Veterinary Society at the Agriculture and Resilience Office of Tangerang Regency, Hustri Windayani, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 21.

According to him, from about 620 tails that were sick due to the mouth and nail disease, it was found from 50 animal sales places in 29 sub-districts in Tangerang Regency.

With details, as many as 412 animals were declared cured, one cow died and 207 animals were slaughtered for the Eid al-Adha sacrifice.

"For the 207, it's for sacrificial animals. But when they want to be slaughtered they are in the healing process," he said.

He revealed, during the process of examining and collecting animal data, which is still being carried out by his party, until now there have been no reports of animals indicating an outbreak of mouth and nail disease.

"Yes, until now there has been no finding again, hopefully there will be no reports. And we also urge the public or breeders to keep reporting if there are findings of PMK cases," he said.

He also added, although now the PMK case in the area has been sloping, however, the community or breeders are asked to remain vigilant and always maintain the sterilization of the cage environment by taking disinfectant liquid and routinely checking the health of their animals.

"Indeed, it is the duty of the breeders to maintain the cleanliness of the animal cages. This includes spraying the disinfectant," he said.
