JAKARTA - The joint SAR team and the Cianjur Police Satpolir, West Java, finally found the body of Aceng Bin Memet, a resident of Sayang Village, who was reported to have been swept away by the current of the Cianjur River some time ago in Cisokan waters.

Head of the Cianjur Police Headquarters, AKP Heri said that after the seventh day of searching, the joint team found the victim's body floating in Cisokan waters, Sukaluyu sub-district, so the team immediately went to the location for evacuation.

"The victim was found 25 kilometers from the first location reported missing in the Cianjur River. The condition of the victim's body has swollen with a prone position. The victim's body was immediately handed over to the family for burial," said AKP Heri, Thursday, July 21, quoted from Antara.

Since the last six days, his party together with the joint SAR team have focused on searching the river by using rubber boats and engine boats, but these efforts have yielded no results, including along the riverbank.

"Only after the seventh day of successful search efforts, the victim's body was found in the waters of the Cisokan River. During the search, bad weather was hampered, especially in the late afternoon, it rained heavily again for several days with an intensity of more than two hours," said Heri.

Previously, Aceng Bin Memet, a resident of Gang Rinjani, Sayang Village, Cianjur, was reported missing by the current of the Cianjur River, while looking for fish using nets.

Residents who had seen the incident tried to help, but the strong current could threaten safety, making residents discouraged.

The joint SAR team from the Cianjur BPBD and the Cianjur PMI carried out a two-day search of the river in the hope of quickly finding the victim's body, while waiting for favorable weather. However, up to six days of searching the victim's body could not be found.
