JAKARTA - Abdulrachman Saleh Airport, Malang, East Java, requires all prospective airplane passengers to have been injected with the COVID-19 booster vaccine.

Head of the Aviation Security and Emergency Services Section of the Abdulrachman Saleh Airport Technical Implementation Unit, Purwo Cahyo Widhiatmoko, Thursday, said that although the prospective passengers are required to receive booster injections, there are a number of relaxations.

"This refers to the Minister of Transportation's Decree Number 70 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic," said Purwo, Thursday, July 21, as reported by Antara.

The government has required booster or booster vaccines as a condition for domestic travel since July 17, 2022. This is stated in the Circular (SE) of the COVID-19 Task Force No. 21 of 2022 concerning Provisions for Travel of Domestic People during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Even so, he continued, there were a number of easings in which prospective passengers who had just received two vaccines and had not yet received a booster, were still allowed to continue air travel by attaching a 1x24 hour antigen result letter or a 3x24 hour PCR test result.

"If you have just received the first dose of vaccine, you must include a 3×24 hour PCR test result letter," he said.

He added that prospective airplane users who had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and wanted to get a booster injection had prepared a vaccine booth.

However, he appealed to prospective passengers who want to get the booster vaccine injection to do so in advance, or a maximum of one day before the trip. This is to avoid the effects of the vaccine.

"We still advise prospective passengers to get vaccinated long before they travel, or a maximum of the day before," said Purwo.

The Abdulrachman Saleh Airport Malang stated that since the regulation was stipulated starting July 17, 2022, it did not have a significant impact on the flow of passengers at the airport.

On average, flights from the Malang Raya area are still in full condition every day. Currently, the airport serves three flights per day with an average number of passengers of 900-1,000 people per day.
